Taji Senior is an interdisciplinary artist and journalist currently based in Los Angeles. Her most recent solo work, A (What the Black Girl Found While Searching for God) was co-produced by Ground Floor Theater in Austin, Texas following a Guest Artist Residency at the Tulsa Artist Fellowship in Tulsa, OK and a series of developmental workshop readings in New York including Columbia University.
Born in Stuttgart, Germany and raised in Philadelphia, PA and Amarillo, TX, Taji’s work is an epistemological exploration of identity, gender, race and sexuality that centers the experiences of Black girls and womxn. Her previous solo work, AMENDMENT explored the ways in which the U.S. constitution defines and denies the humanity of people of color and was produced as part of Salvage Vanguard Theater’s Work Progress May 2017 series. Her acting credits include the We Are Film Series, which is currently streaming on Issa Rae’s (Creator, HBO’s INSECURE) YouTube Channel, Comedy of Errors (Austin Shakespeare Company), and The Umbra Sisters, (Meow Wolf). She earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Texas Tech University and is currently earning her MFA in Acting at the University of California, Los Angeles.
