Javi Rivera DeBruin (they/them) is a queer, non-binary, latinx playwright. They are a member of The Parsnip Ship's inaugural Radio Roots Writer Group, where their play HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGEL DEAREST will soon be available to stream. Their play LUCIÉRNAGAS was a semi-finalist for the 2019 New Dramatists Princess Grace Award. It was selected to be recorded as part of The Parsnip Ship's 5th season of radio dramas and is currently in development in partnership with National Queer Theatre. Jessie’s work explores themes of queerness, identity, gender, race, diaspora, and family. They hold a BA in Theatre and Latin American Studies from Smith College. jessieriveradebruin.com
